This was a quick one for one of my favorite AD's, April Montgomery. I know the idea of a butterfly is pretty played-out but it just fit so well with this treatment.
The story discusses how technology has transformed and continues to transform to smaller and less clunky mobile forms. I saw it as an opportunity to combine some of the intricate line work I've been exploring in my ongoing WORTH Magazine cover series.
While sketching, I got the idea for this piece and knew that a pencil sketch would never close the sale. I spent a little time and produced a nearly final "rough". We made a handful tweaks and off it went to the presses.
