In Pakistan's Backyard
posted:
I got the last-minute call yesterday from Boston Globe Op-Ed art director Elaina Natario for an opinion piece that appears in today's Globe.
The piece makes the point, made more clearly today with fresh suicide attacks at a major Pakistan university, that Pakistan needs to redirect it's military away from India to fight the Taliban in its' own backyard.
Thankfully the idea for this one came fast since the final was due a couple hours after initial contact. A big thanks to Elaina for such a smooth process which lasted barely an hour from beginning to end. This is one of those fun quick in, quick out unexpected gigs that really illustrates (pardon the pun) what I love about this profession - you never know what's coming next.
