"Kitty" was painted for the incredible wedding invite of Jessica Hische and Russ Maschmeyer. Jessica asked a few of her friends to illustrate a couple of sentences about their lives. Mine was "She encouraged him to apply to grad school. He encouraged her to captain her own ship. Uncharted waters lay ahead for them both."  I couldn't help but think of kittens when trying to come up with something appropriate for Jess and Russ.
