Dugald Stermer Memorial Exhibit at CCA

Please join us for Drawing the Line, an exhibition celebrating the life and work of Illustrator and CCA Illustration department chair Dugald Stermer. The exhibition will feature a selection of works from his career as a freelance illustrator, designer, art director, and author.



The show will run from Oct 2-Oct 12. There will be two receptions:

The public reception will be Friday, Oct Oct 12, 6-8 PM in the CCA/SF Nave alcove.
Guest speakers at the October 12 reception will include Crystal Stermer (Dugald's daughter),  Eric Madsen , Steve Heller,  Brad Holland and Robert Hunt.

A special opening reception for CCA students will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 7pm in theCCA/SF Nave alcove.
Guest speakers at the Oct 2 reception  include: Ashley (Benham) Yazdani (CCA alumna), and Caitlin Kuhwald (faculty and CCA alumna).





 

Dugald served as chair of the CCA Illustration program for 17 years, and spent 40 years as one of the most respected illustrators in the field. A fierce advocate for artists rights, he also served on the San Francisco Arts commission, and served for many years on the board of the Delancy Street foundation. On behalf of the Stermer family and the  faculty of the CCA Illustration department  (Randy Chavez ,Bob Ciano, Mark Eanes, Justin Gabbard, John Hersey, Robert Hunt, Chris Koehler, Caitlin Kuhwald, Adam McCauley, Alexis Mahrus, John Mattos , Owen Smith,  Barron Storey,   and Michael Wertz )  we are deeply honored to be able to present this exhibit,  and we look forward to seeing you at the show and reception.
