My new friend.

The only way for me to cope with a day like today is to write about a little friend who has moved into the tree by the side of our house.

I put up a bird feeder a few weeks back. Nothing creative or fancy, but it is so fun to sit in my living room and watch the birds gather. Sometimes my friend will come over and scare away the birds.

He has tried unsuccessfully to get at the birdseed, but as the evidence clearly shows, he has succeeded. I have thought about placing the feeder somewhere higher so that he can’t get at the seed, but It’s too much fun to watch. The kids also enjoy it, and maybe that is the main reason I don’t look into something else. They still are undecided as to what his name is going to be.
