Good Wood Brooklyn- Opening this Saturday!

This past summer one of my former students, Andrew Davis, organized a show titled “Good Wood” that consisted of artists painting on skate decks, and having them on display at a great gallery space in Detroit. I took part in that show, and now Andrew has taken this show on the road to Brooklyn. Andrew really knows how to throw an opening, is a great artist in his own right, and I am grateful for his efforts to make this an amazing show.


 The opening is this Saturday evening, and I hope those in the area will stop by and check it out.

Good Wood Give Back NYC at 3rd Ward

July 26th, 7 pm - 12 am

Aww Sweet and Alldaybuffet have teamed up to present Good Wood, an auction-cum-party. 50 artists will be auctioning off their one-of-a-kind custom skate decks to support Stoked, an organization that mentors kids through action sports.

Artists include Fernanda Cohen, Chuck Anderson, Leo Espinosa, Don Kilpatrick, Matt Gordon, Nathan Fox, Jeremy Traum, Keetra Dixon, Mike Perry, Chris Ryniak, Plastic Kid, Neuarmy, Serge Gay Jr. and many more.

The night will also feature work from respected Brooklyn-based skateboarder/artist Bobby Puleo and film director and photographer, Josh Stewart.

Music by Brion ISAACS of 33Hz and ShindigNYC.
