I was lucky enough to buy a copy of Rockwell Kent's "How I Make A Woodcut" a few years back. It is one of the gems of my book collection, and one of the few books I own that has real value along with the pure sentimental value that I place on most of my books. A lot of the illustrations in this little book of goodness I already have in other books on Kent, but what is truly unique about this book is that it is one of one thousand copies. It was hand letterpressed, and bound by a true craftsperson.
I have yet to read it because the spine of the books is very fragile. that is the rub for books like this- You can't truly utilize them because of how collectible they are. It's like baseball cards all over again....the compusiveness in me heightens and i can't just enjoy what i dropped some serious cash on....
