Japan for The New York Times

While watching the news from Japan today I sketched out a few ideas. I sent them over to Aviva Michaelov at the Op-Ed page and she ran one of them with one of their articles, which can be read online here. The other sketches are below, one of them involved pushing the text into a pile at the bottom, more of an op-art thing, I try to think of ideas that use the entire page when I can:
