I did this portrait of Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens) for this week's Billboard magazine.  It's a full page image accompanying an interview about his new album which is coming out very soon.  The first in 25 years I believe.
I've always loved his music and songwriting and I'm looking forward to hearing the new work he's recorded.  Here are a few links with information and music:

I roughly based Cat Stevens' portrait on this personal work I have in my studio.  An inked self portrait over some sprays from a can, something I did quickly one day.

I wanted to capture the idea of a person who has been through a lot of tumult and has gone through it just fine.  Stevens' name change and conversion to Islam were actions which were criticized by many.
