Ellen Weinstein
CA Annual and Recent Work

I am always grateful to have work included in the Communication Arts Illustration Annual. This year, I was especially honored to have a full page in the book. A big thank you to the editors of CA and the esteemed judges of the competition.

"The Unbelievers" originally appeared as a cover for The New York Times style section. It is a thought provoking look at African-American atheists who feel excluded from the community. Every now and then, an image seems to resonate with the audience and this was one of those times. I received countless emails from people who connected with the image and requests for prints. When work speaks to the reader, I know that I have done my job as an illustrator. Thanks also to Barbara Richer, AD.
Aging Eyes to Blame for Range of Health Problems for The New York Times health section, Peter Morance AD.

Cover for SF Weekly on prison realignment in California. Andrew Nilsen, who many Drawgers have had the pleasure to work with was the AD.
The beginning of this year has been extraordinarily busy with work, teaching, ICON and some large projects I can't share yet. I do plan on posting more frequently in the months to come.
