Not exactly the real thing.
and here are the sketches. I have to say James (the art director) got this one right. I had initially went with simpler logos and it looked too easy (perhaps I was quick to play it conservative— British editorials pay 1/4 what American publishers do).
The only beef encountered here was the shape of the G in the "Guardianweiser" logotype. I thought it should stick closer to the original. Is it that weird looking? Its still readable right? Its one of those things you don't look for consciously.
