just launched it's bike share program sponsored by Citibank. It's called citibike. It's been delayed for months and it's implementation has spawned all sorts of condemnation and consternation. Of course many people are also excited and giddy with the launch of the new system and why wouldn't they be? I made this comix while the docks still were empty. I wanted to try drawing in a looser style and try to format it into something visually acceptable. I'm not really into comics per se, I don't like reading too much. I don't like drawing the same thing over and over either. I'm a short attention type person and I get bored really easy so it was an interesting exercise to draw and re-draw this. I used a light-box, tired some new pencils Vic bought me but I found them hard to re-sharpen. How to do text? Should I just find a typeface that approximates hand lettering? Maybe next time. Should I tell a story in less images / panels? Who would buy this in this format? Is it better animated or designed for IPad flipping of pages?
Oh, check out Marcellus Halls
great New Yorker cover on Bike share.
