Today I've received the last issue of Maisonneuve, a cultural magazine from Montreal.
It's the third time I collaborate with AD Anna Minzhulina, and each time to illustrate Pasha Malla 's essay.
This time, it was called Money For Nothing ,
and started with: You might be able to buy love, but paying for an emotional experience doesn't have to feel cheap
I got this idea I couldn't get rid off, but found the mix of painting texture and plastic card a bit awkward, so after trying different sketches, I thought a different treatment would do it.
So here it is.
Our first collaboration got into AI this year; Pasha was portraying a man from Toronto who got attacked and left for dead in his bikes shop, and how this event haunted him ever since.
