ELWOOD'S TRANSFER PROCESS

AUGUST 6, 2021
FROM TIME TO TIME, artist friends have asked me to describe the process I use to transfer the imagery I burn to my watercolor paper to jump-start drawings in my Transfer/Transformation Series. I'll do my best to show the apporach I use. I video would be better, but so far, I haven't gotten around to making one. In any case, I'm sure you'll get an idea of how I've done this and take it in a new direction. Let me know how it goes. -Elwood

I took pictures of my process as I created a Transformation/Nemo drawing in 2018. Here's the final art. Below it, I'll show the photos showing the basic steps I took to transfer the Laser Printer image of a Little Nemo Sunday comic strip page that I burned onto my watercolor paper using a Walnut Hollow Creative Versa Tool.
Here's a photo of my Versa Transfer Tool. It's basically a soldering iron with an added flat disc tip.
