I've mentioned before that I love to be in the Los Angeles Times and so when it comes to pass,  I'm a pig in proverbial shit. But when it comes to pass in the form of a portrait of Herman Melville, well then, that's some big PROVERBIAL!  This was for the book review section for a book by Jay Parini [The Last Station] called The Passage of H.M. which is a fictionalized history of the author of Moby Dick.  It's very inspiring when the subject is like this. You can't help it, you've become connected with the great. I always imagine swanky movie stars reading the book review by the pool with drinkies! Here's the REVIEW.  Enjoy!  AD Judith Pryor.
