Studio Tour
posted:
Last week saw the first open house event at Erlang House, the 9 floor tower block where I have my studio. Firstly, thanks to everyone who managed to stop by!  We have over 120 studios in our block, so there was loads to see and it was a really good opportunity to meet some of the artists on the other floors.
I did mean to take a whole bunch of photos at the Private View evening but a couple of glasses of red wine and too much chit chat and I completely forgot. Oh well!
My studio is a modest 164 sq foot so taking a grand tour of the place doesn't really take so long, but here am some photos I took of my studio the morning after (following a tidy up). And just to clarify, it never usually looks this tidy.
Notice how I have casually thrown my work onto the coffee table.

I should mention that my studio is in Full-on showcase mode. My walls are normally not covered in my own work like this. I think that would drive me a bit stir crazy!
Tweeting. Of course.

One of the great things about finally having a dedicated studio is being able to move this sort of tat out of my living room.
I was so excited about the view when I first saw this studio. Frankly, in central London, I'd have been excited just to have window!
The other wall. A sofa is essential for those creative "power naps". Lovingly re-upholstered in vintage irish linen by my mum!
A few visitors were a bit miffed that I just COLLECT these covers.

more toys.

I love this rocking chair, but it takes a little getting used to. A bargain ebay find. Pfffth to craigslists.
I also had a few bits and bobs for sale over the weekend.  I'm hoping to take part in a pop-up shop venture before christmas so this was a bit of a dummy run.  Hopefully, I will get round to putting that online shop up now too.
Limited edition Giclee and Screen-prints.
Badges. Collect all 26.
Gocco printed coasters. Ideal for those challenging clients.

Well that's it.  I'm sure I've well and truly milked this tour.  Stop by for tea and biscuits next time you're in the neighbourhood!
