This is a painting we started while on vacation at the beginning of the summer. Finishing it up on this rainy cold week feels like the final nails in Summer's coffin.
When this got started, I was reading Tulip Mania, a book about the demise of the Dutch economy in the 17th century. The spirit of our best personal work usually evolves as we pass it back and forth. This one went through a bunch of phases of meaning one thing or another to Gina and me. Now that it's done, I think I'll just let it stand by itself.
