Spots for The American Prospect

I recently worked with Mary Parsons, art director at The American Prospect, on two assignments:  an illustration for an article about declassifying government documents, and five spots for a chart on government agencies in need of change. Each of the illustrations printed roughly 2 inches wide, so there was a balance between getting the point across clearly without making them too detailed. 

Every once in a while I’ll do a spot that really sings to me, and this “Key to America” image does just that. Mary did a terrific job with the design - I just received the tear sheets from her over the weekend. (Remember tear sheets? Not many art directors seem to mail them out these days. I always appreciate them.)
