This is my take on the shortchanging of New York, which will be receiving less homeland security financing than in the past. The letters were unanimous - It's an insult! I'm really glad the editors at the Times went with this image. I felt good about the symbolism of the apple core, it was a better idea than my other sketch which had crumbs on the plate instead.
