I don't know why I find beauty in everyday textures that I see, but I do. I think it may be something about the "randomness" of found textures and patterns. It definitely has something to do with the feeling of the passage of time. It had been a while since I specifically went searching for textures to shoot, and with the light being really flat, today was the day. I walked around a few blocks of my neighborhood in Brooklyn, and did a quick shoot. I'm shooting with a macro lens which allows me to get in tight and see this world in a different way...Often times looking through the lens I see things I never would have seen otherwise. Texture find their way into my work in various ways, and when I am shooting I'm usually thinking about how I'll be able to incorporate it into my process, be it illustration or animation. I'm sure some of these start showing up soon.
Thanks
