It is a huge honor for me to be a contributor to the 15th issue of Migrate magazine with the theme, "Viva!". Migrate is the official magazine of The Loerie Awards in South Africa and is a primary source of inspiration to all creative minds involved in brand communication. The Loerie Awards is a showcase for illustrators, typographers, photographers, art directors, fine artists, graffiti artists, designers and writers from all over the world. The 34th Annual Loerie Awards are sponsored by Cape Town Tourism, The City of Cape Town and Gearhouse South Africa among others. Big thanks to Creative Director, Roanna Williams for selecting my work to be included with a cast of really fabulous international artists.

In 1964 Elvis Presley starred in one of his best
movies and left us the immortal expression.
Viva Las Vegas!. Where capitalists celebrate
capitalism. The home of gambling and drive
through marriages. The world's convention
capital - where dentists, orthalmologists
and accountants get to be Elvis for the
lenght of a three-day convention.

Viva! is the expression of the universally
oppressed. The downtrodden and the poor.

Viva! is the 15th edition of Migrate magazine.
Perhaps there is no irony - from Las Vegas to
Havana to Soweto - to writers, illustrators,
photographers and all artists - Viva! is a
celebration of life. To live and want to live more
than 24 hours a day. We are all dentists at a
lifelong convention. Just don't go home. Viva!
