Mono Shout by 27_9

I am very excited to announce the release of Mono Shout, published by 27_9.
This is the third project (following Jetlag 1 and Jetlag 2, in 2006 and 2007 respectively) produced and published by Franco Cervi, the genius designer and founder of the publishing house 27_9.
This is a great honor for me since Franco (as you may see from the pictures below) manufactures books of such high quality that they can truly be considered works of art . The weakest thing in the books are my illustrations.

Mono Shout:
This book launches a series of monographs dedicated to illustration, graphic design and contemporary art.
As the title says, the book focuses on Shout's (my) work, a selection of roughly 150 illustrations divided into 3 sections: 1) narrative images, mostly created for book covers where I try to suggest a feeling; 2) graphic works in which the idea is central; 3) early projects in which I started building my visual language.

I am extremely happy and honoured to have an introduction by Steven Heller and Ferruccio Giromini (a very well-known Italian critique) and a write-up by SooJin Buzelli, D.W. Pine e Paul Buckely, thanks so much, guys! And of course, special thanks go to Franco Cervi who designed the entire project.
As you can see, the books have the most sophisticated technical characteristics, as well as an extremely elegant design, paper, print and packaging of the highest quality, "made in Milan".

A preview of all three books is available on my new website: my new website.

yes, Alessandro Gottardo is my real name
ps: for Zimm, you see, step by step I’ll be back with my real name, you just need to be a little more patient!

The next 27_9 project release scheduled in September is dedicated to an original piece by Christian Montenegro (rumors want Franco interested in some of you too!)

The rise and shine of Diego Armando Maradona

After the beautiful cover of Doug Fraser I think it's a good time to post my illo for the The Financial Times Magazine, they asked me a full page about the career of Diego Maradona in relation to the upcoming Soccer World Cup where he will go back as a trainer of the Argentinian team.
The European Drawgers and the South American Drawgers know this incredible player very well.

For this illo I played with the famous goal he scored with his hand during the match England - Argentina in the 1986 Mexico World Cup, where Maradona was named "la mano de Dios" (the hand of God).

For the few of u who don't know him yet I'll post the two goals he scored during that match. The second goal he scored  has been widely recognized as the most beautiful goal in the history of soccer.
