Minimum Fax
posted:
Minimum Fax is a small Italian publisher based in Rome. I was a fan of this tiny publishing house years before I started working with them. I always loved American short stories, and they have great catalogs of those books.
As reader I started with the Ray Carver anthology, from Minimum Fax editions; I discovered also Thom Jones (The Pugilist at Rest, Sonny Liston Was a Friend of Mine, Cold Snap ) beautiful, beautiful writer! Again, Jonathan Lethem,  A.M. Homes,  David Foster Wallace and many may others.

They helped me a lot with their great stories to find my own language, by translating words in images.
Therefore I was very happy in 2006 when I received a call by Riccardo Falcinelli, the brilliant art director of Minimum Fax, asking me to do some covers for them. In this way my collaboration with Minimum Fax started, not for money (since they have not so much money!) but for pleasure and, I think, for reciprocal admiration.

Thanks to some Minimum Fax covers I had the chance to go to the SI and AI in NY, I got to know many of you (often among the panel of judges), and now I feel part of this special illustration community.

So thanks Minimum Fax
This is my last published cover for them.

The title is "Three ways of getting rid of Tolstoj". it's a fun, surreal novel about Lev Tolstoj, still alive in Rome trying to write a new great masterpiece

This is my favorite version, but the editor thought that was little bit too funny, therefore they decided for the one without the long beard
