Summer of '71
SEPTEMBER 24, 2006

The photographer placed my portfolio against my chair. dead center, because I was wearing a mini and this was a family publication.
Zina and I must be around the same age. This is a photo of me, drawing portraits at a street fair, that ran in a local newspaper that same summer. I wanted to be living the life of hanging out by the Bethesda fountain and romping around on a commune, but I was too worried about supporting myself. I still worry too much.
I think that's Flaherty's uncle, Chester, looking over my right shoulder.
