No Photoshop...!?

SEPTEMBER 9, 2009
This year's Call for Entries from the Society of Illustrators isn't a favorite of mine, but something caught my eye that made it even more of a puzzle to me. Did anyone else notice that the right edge about five inches from the top has a circle with the words, "No Photoshop...!?" written in it? The rest of the circles that contain messages are encouragements to enter and affirmations that this year you will be sure to get accepted.
Can someone tell me what this comment means? Digital art is a touchy subject over there, almost twenty years after Adobe introduced one of the most magical tools an artist could want. I don't think this comment helps. Or am I misunderstanding its meaning?
