I pulled this idea off the back burner or really out of long storage. Some 10 years ago i started playing around with the idea. I've always wondered: Exactly what do Art Directors do with illustrators promos? I often heard "they just pile up and end up in the trash can" OR "I get so many, I don't have time to open them." Or "Love it! It's hanging right in front of me!" SO, I thought it'd be fun to poke a little FUN at the promotional process we illustrators spend hard earned $ and time on. I'm not sure if this idea is worthy of a promotion. Or if some Art Directors might get a little miffed by the idea?? I'm still scritching out ideas but just thought I see what you drawgers thought as illustrators. And maybe Edel could give me an ADs opinion? Maybe a title could be: "Top 10 things Art Directors do with Illustrator's Promos" or Crazy things Art Directors do with Illustrator's Promotions. or Exactly what do Art Directors do with illustrator's promos? Whadaya tink?
